Current Currency

During my travels I have amassed a lot of foreign currency. You know, there always seems to be a little left over in your wallet when you return home. I always think to myself, "I'll use it when I am next in Indonesia..."

This morning I decided to tally up all of the foreign currency cluttering up my desk drawer. Bills from Thailand, Mexico, China, Canada, the UK, Korea, Singapore, etc. Once totaled and converted to one currency, I discovered I have about ¥74,360 or roughly USD 816.

Self Portrait in Odaiba

I was out early this morning to take some photos at Odaiba in Tokyo. Odaiba (お台場) is a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay, across the Rainbow Bridge from central Tokyo. It was initially built for defensive purposes in the 1800's, then dramatically expanded during the late 20th century as a seaport district and as a major commercial, residential and leisure area.

Unfortunately, my 'photo groove' wasn't with me this morning so I just sat on the grass and enjoyed the view during a warm and clear day in Tokyo. Just before leaving I snapped a quick self portrait.
